Beautification program spotlights tree donations

For the third year, Vevay Newspapers, Inc., and Belterra Casino Resort and Spa have announced their Beautification Program.

Unlike past years, this year there will be more than 100 winners.

On Thursday, October 16th, volunteers will be at the Paul Ogle Riverfront Park in Vevay from 4-6:30 p.m.

At that time, volunteers will be giving away 110 trees, free of charge, to county residents who would like one.

There is a limit of one tree per household.

The tree give away is a response to the county’s loss of trees due to the recent windstorm resulting from Hurricane Ike.

There are no restrictions on who gets the trees. They will be given away on a first come, first served basis.
