to be blessed
This Sunday, August 7th, the Switzerland County community will officially dedicate and bless the new Safe Haven Baby Box.
The program will be held at the Switzerland County Emergency Response station, 809 East Main Street in Vevay, and will begin at 2 p.m.
The Safe Haven Baby Box is a safe way for parents to anonymously surrender a newborn if they feel that they cannot adequately care for. The box is located at Switzerland County Emergency Response because the ambulance facility is staffed around the clock.
The box was financed through a community effort. Sunday’s program will include brief comments from state and local dignitaries; members of the Switzerland County Emergency Response team; and sponsor agency representatives.
The program will also include an official blessing of the box; and there will also be demonstration of how the baby box will operate.
The community is invited to attend.
