Switzerland County High School will be represented at this year’s Farmers Fair celebration in Aurora by two members of the senior class.
Chosen by their classmates to participate in the Queen and King competition are Kaylee Wetzel and Tyler Perry.
Kaylee is the daughter of Michelle Leedy and Joseph Wetzel. She is a member of the cheerleading squad, where she serves as co-captain; and is also a part of the softball team; the Pep Club; Conservation Club; Spanish Club; and serves in the Peer-to-Peer Counseling program. She is the co-President of the National Honor Society; and earned an award for excellence in anatomy and physiology. Her career plans are to attend college and pursue a bachelor’s degree in nursing.
Tyler is the son of Joe and Gina Perry; and he is the Secretary of the Senior Class; and also served as the Secretary of the Junior Class. He is Secretary of the CORE group; and is a member of BPA, Pep Club, Key Club, SLAC, National Honor Society; and was a part of the Prom Committee. Tyler has also participated on the basketball and baseball teams; and was a part of the Congressional Leadership Conference his junior year. His career goals are to attend college and major in business administration.
The Queen and King contest will be held on Wednesday, October 6th; and the candidates will be introduced on Stage #1 at 7:45 p.m.; and the crowning of this year’s Queen and King will be held at 9:45 p.m.
