Switzerland County’s Ashley Chase capped an incredible track season by earning individual MVP honors at last week’s ORVC track meeting held at Madison.
She earned the top award by winning the 100-meter dash in a time of :12.56; the 200-meter dash in a time of :26.15; and also finished second in the 400-meter dash and was third in the long jump.
As a team, Switzerland County’s girls finished third, trailing champion Southwestern and second place Rising Sun; and ahead of Milan, South Ripley, Jac-Cen-Del, and Shawe.
Other third place points were scored for Switzerland County by Brittany Hall in the high jump; April Thieman in the 100-meter dash; Amanda Hon in the 3,200-meter run; and the 400-meter relay team.
Fourth place points were earned by Courtney Cole in the discus; while fifth places were earned by Tanya Sefton in the 100-meter hurdles; Amanda Hon in the 1,600-meter run; April Thieman in the 200-meter dash; and the 3,200-meter relay team.
Sixth places were earned by Brenna Green in the discus; Amber Smith in the shot put; and the 1,600-meter relay team.

The boys struggled with injuries late in the year, and at the conference meet the Pacers finished fifth. Milan won the meet, followed by Jac-Cen-Del, South Ripley, Rising Sun, Switzerland County, Southwestern, and Shawe.
Second places were earned by T.J. Sefton in the long jump; B.J. Shelton in the shot put; Brandon Otter in the high jump; and the 400-meter relay team. T.J. Sefton also earned a fourth place in the 100-meter dash.
Fifth place points were earned by T.J. Sefton in the high jump; Josh Wegman in the 110-meter hurdles; Josh Snow in the 400-meter dash; and Nathan Hickman in the 300-meter hurdles. Sixth places were earned by Brandon Otter in the long jump and the 200-meter dash; Nathan Hickman in the 110-meter hurdles; Scott Brady in the 100-meter dash; Josh Wegman in the 300-meter hurdles; and the 1,600-meter relay team.
Ben Hickman, an all conference performer last year and a regional qualifier, did not participate due to injury.
