Switzerland County Lady Pacer Ashley Chase has been honored by the Ohio River Valley Conference as its “Player of the Week” for December 13th-31st.
Ashley Chase earned the honor by scoring 59 points, grabbing 14 rebounds, and shooting 78 percent from the freethrow line in the “Rumble on the River” holiday tournament at Southwestern.
Also honored as a “Top Performer” was sophomore Ashley Bright. She earned recognition by scoring 11 points and handing out two assists in the tourney’s first game against Jasper.
Other players honored as “Top Performers” included: Julie Lipperd and Kristen Huss of South Ripley; Maria Berry, Katie Sommer, and Alyssa Richards of Shawe; Liz Kaiser and Tara Valentine of Rising Sun; Janelle Hardesty, Abby Rohlfing, and Emily Einhaus of Jac-Cen-Del; and Megan Lade and Katie Volz of Milan.

In girls individual statistics, several Lady Pacers are among the top 10 in categories.
Ashley Chase is leading the conference in scoring with an average of 18.4 points per game, is second in rebounding with an average of 7.4 per game, is second in field goal percentage at .489, and is ninth in freethrow shooting percentage at .626.
Ashley Bright is second in freethrow shooting percentage at .813, is sixth in assists with 23, and is eighth in field goal percentage at .439. Kodi Driver is second in the number of three-point field goals made with 14, and is seventh in field goal percentage at .440.
Jaclyn Ranz is sixth in field goal percentage at .441, and is seventh in the number of three-point field goals made with eight. Brittany Cole is ninth in rebounding with an average of 4.5 per game, and is 10th in freethrow shooting percentage at .552.
Holly Jackson is ninth in assists with 19.

For the boys, Pacers Chancey May and B.J. Shelton were both honored as “Top Performers” for the week.
Chancey May was honored for his 40 points and 14 rebounds over a three-game stretch; while B.J. Shelton was included for his 21 points and seven rebounds against Oldenburg Academy.
Others named “Top Performers” included: Tyler Einhaus of Jac-Cen-Del; Curtis Fogle and Jesse McClure of Rising Sun; Tony Lloyd, Tyler Ester, and Brandon Seabolt of South Ripley; Brandon Lauster of Shawe; and Kyle George of Milan.

In boys individual statistics, B.J. Shelton is ninth in scoring with an average of 10 points per game, is fifth in rebounding with an average of 6.5 per game, and is sixth in field goal percentage at .519.
Mat Deaton is tied for ninth in scoring at a 10 points per game average, is third in field goal percentage at .550, and is sixth in free three shooting percentage at .770.
Travis Webster fifth in assists with 28; Chancey May is fourth in three point field goals made with 14 and is ninth in assists with 19; and T.J. Sefton is 10th in assists with 15.
