The Ohio County Sheriff’s Department has announced two arrests following an investigation.

According to Chief Deputy Chad Oakes, on Tuesday, March 31st, the Ohio County Sheriff’s office received a call from the Ohio County-Rising Sun Resource Officer that a female had left the school with two children in her vehicle; and that she seemed to be under the influence of a substance.

A traffic stop was then made on East Bellview Lane in Ohio County, and the driver, Amanda D. Bailey, 32, was transported for a blood draw.

Tests results were returned last Tuesday, April 21st, and those results showed the suspect having several substances in her blood, including pain killers in high levels.

No arrest was made at that time, because Bailey was arrested on Friday, April 17th along with Timothy ‘Chad’ Montgomery for dealing in a narcotic drug and maintaining a common nuisance.

Both are currently housed in the Switzerland County jail.

Bailey is now being charged with additional charges: Operating While Intoxicated Endangerment, a Class A misdemeanor; and two counts of Operating While Intoxicated with passengers under the age of 18, Level 6 felonies.

All persons charged with a crime are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
