The Indiana High School Baseball Coaches Association (IHSBCA) announced its All-State Honorable Mentions with Rising Sun outfielders Kurtis Armstrong and Bryant Housemeyer on the Class 1A roster.
Armstrong, a junior, posted a .351 batting average (27-for-77) with 26 runs scored, 20 RBIs, 10 doubles and 13 stolen bases.
This year he was part of a combined no-hitter against Shawe, along with Brent Turner and his cousin Austin Armstrong. He hit .356 as a sophomore and had 14 stolen bases.
Housemyer, a sophomore, was among the team’s top hitters with a .406 batting average (26-for-64) with 27 runs scored 13 RBIs, four doubles and five triples. The team speedster had 13 stolen bases. He had seven stolen bases as a freshman and has not been caught stealing in 20 attempts.
The two players will play a key role in Rising Sun’s success next season as they defend their Class A Sectional 60 title.
