This week Switzerland County area churches join in the celebration of the Easter Season.
Many churches will be holding special services in celebration of the season. Here is a listing of services that have been announced by area churches.

The area United Methodist Churches have announced dates and locations for their upcoming Holy Week services.
– The Maundy Thursday Service will be held on the East Enterprise United Methodist Church tonight (Thursday, March 28th). The service will begin at 6 p.m. with the message by Robin Hochstrasser.
– The Good Friday Service will be held tomorrow (Friday, March 29th). It will be at Ruter Chapel United Methodist Church in Vevay, and will begin at 7 p.m. Reverend Roger Parrott will deliver the message.
– An Easter morning Sunrise Service will be held at the Aberdeen United Methodist Church on Sunday, March 31st, beginning at 7 a.m. There will be a special speaker, and breakfast will follow the service.
– Easter services at Aberdeen United Methodist Church will be held at 9:15 a.m., with Reverend Roger Parrott giving the message. An Easter Egg hunt will follow the service.

Olive Branch Baptist Church near Bear Branch has announced its Easter Services.
On Sunday, March 31st, there will be a “Sonrise” service beginning at 7:30 a.m., and that will be followed by a fellowship breakfast.
The morning service will begin at 10 a.m.; and in both services there will be special music along with the message.
Olive Branch Baptist Church is located on Bear Branch Road approximately two miles north of Fairview off of State Road 250.
Everyone is invited to attend.

Truth Apostolic Church in Vevay would like to invite the community to attend its special Easter services.
The congregation will hold its Easter morning service on Sunday, March 31st, beginning at 10 a.m., and that will be followed by an egg hunt, candy rain, bouncy houses, and refreshments.
Anyone who needs a ride should contact the church’s van ministry at 427-2210, and arrangements will be made to pick you us.
The church is located at 6160 State Road 56 on the west edge of Vevay.

Ruter Chapel United Methodist Church in Vevay has announced its upcoming services as follows:
– The community is invited to an Easter Sunrise service Sunday, March 31st, at Jennings Park, located at the corner of Market and Arch streets in Vevay, overlooking the Ohio River beginning at 7 a.m. The service will celebrate Easter through prayer, scripture, a brief message and music. In case of inclement weather the service will be held at the Vevay United Methodist Church at the corner of Main and Union streets in Vevay.
– Immediately following the Sunrise Service the community is invited to the Vevay United Methodist Church for the annual United Methodist Men’s Breakfast. The men will be preparing and serving scrambled eggs, ham, toast, biscuits/gravy, juice, milk and coffee. Come early, share great fellowship, good food and watch the men work hard. There is no cost for the breakfast. Free will offerings may be accepted.
– The Easter Worship service at Vevay United Methodist Church will begin at 10:30 a.m. in the sanctuary. The day’s celebration continues with music selections by the Chancel Choir, scripture readings, children’s time at the altar, and a special message delivered by Reverend Sandy Marlin will round out the service. There will be Easter lilies donated in honor or memory of loved ones decorating the sanctuary. The services are open to the public and everyone is invited to attend.

Most Sorrowful Mother of God Catholic Church in Vevay has announced its Easter Services.
The schedule for Easter will be as follows: ‘Veneration of the Cross’ will be at 1 p.m. tomorrow (Good Friday, March 29th).
There will not be a 4 p.m. Saturday Mass on Saturday, March 30th.
Easter Services will be held at the Most Sorrowful Mother of God at 10 a.m. on Sunday, March 31st.
The Most Sorrowful Mother of God Catholic Church is located on Ferry Street across from the Jeff-Craig Fire Department.

New Liberty Baptist Church in East Enterprise would like to invite the community to come join it for its Sunrise Service on Easter morning, Sunday, March 31st.
The Sunrise service will begin at 7 a.m., with a breakfast following the service. The regular Sunday morning service will follow at 10:30 a.m.
New Liberty Baptist Church is located on State Road 250 east of East Enterprise next to Switzerland County Elementary School.

Markland Baptist Church has announced its Easter services.
There will be a Sunrise Service beginning at 7:15 a.m. on Easter morning, March 31st, followed by a breakfast.
There will not be Sunday School classes Easter morning, and the morning worship service will begin at 10:45 a.m.
An Easter Egg hunt will follow the morning worship. Everyone is invited to attend. Markland Baptist Church is located just off of State Road 156 just west of the Markland Dam.
