The Town of Vevay’s annual community Easter Egg Hunt has a new home.
This year’s hunt will be held this Saturday, April 8th; and will be held at the Swiss Villa Nursing & Rehabilitation Center on the west end of Vevay across from the high school. The event will begin at 10:30 a.m.
The Easter Eggs that children will be gathering will have been filled by Swiss Villa residents; and the Easter Bunny will also be stopping by and available to pictures.
Megan Lengerich, Swiss Villa’s Director of Marketing and Admissions, said that the facility was happy to step in and sponsor this annual event.
“Christy at the Visitors Center called, and I guess nobody really wanted to take it on this year,” she said. “We had donated the prizes for it last year, so she asked if we would want to do it this year. So we did, and we moved it to here so our residents could participate, too and join in on the fun.”
Lengerich said that the residents will be outside on Saturday, enjoying all of the festivities and the people.
“We are going to have our yard sectioned off into three sections,” Lengerich said. “Around our flag pole in the very front is going to be our littles, our small group. Our front yard is going to be ages four through seven; and then on our side lawn we’re going to have the bigger kids, so we’re going to kind of keep them separated.
The residents of Swiss Villa have been busy filling the 3,600 eggs in preparation for Saturday’s event.
“It was like a candy sweat shop in the dining room,” Lengerich laughed, “But everyone had a wonderful time. It has been a hectic time.”
Complimentary water and hot dogs will be available after the hunt for everyone.
