Former Switzerland County School Corporation treasurer is now in federal custody and has begun serving her prison term after pleading guilty to embezzling more than $1 million from the school corporation.
According to the Federal Bureau of Prisons website, inmate Ann Geyman is now being held at the Lexington, Kentucky Federal Medical Center. It is not clear when she began serving the sentence, but she was reported as in custody by the website on Wednesday morning.
The Lexington Federal Medical Center, according to the website, “…Is an administrative facility for male inmates. The facility also has an adjacent minimum security satellite camp for female inmates.”
The Lexington Federal Medical Center is located seven miles north of Lexington on U.S. Highway 421.
She was sentenced to 48 months in prison on Friday, March 7th in U.S. Federal Court in Indianapolis.
She embezzled $1,113,502.34 from the school corporation during a period of January 20th, 2003, through May 9th, 2007.
She also was convicted of mail fraud involving the J.D. Byrider car dealership in Madison; and also mail fraud in connection with her position as treasurer of the Madison Regatta.
