For the 26th consecutive year the Vevay American Legion will be giving food baskets to needy Switzerland County families at Christmas.
The program is a joint venture between the American Legion, American Electric Power, Belterra Casino and Resort, and are fire departments.
Applications for food baskets may be picked up now at the American Legion post, located at 213 Ferry Street in Vevay.
Applications must be returned to the American Legion by Friday, November 27th. There are no exceptions to this deadline.
The food baskets will be given based on need. Families chosen to receive a food basket will receive a postcard in the mail, giving information on what day and where to pick up the basket.
Those filling out applications should indicate which fire department in the county they live closest to for pickup.
