Switzerland County Lady Pacer Amanda Hon won the individual championship of the Ohio River Valley Conference cross country meet, held last week at Baylor Park near Milan.
She won the race by posting a time of 15:15; and continues a trend of outstanding Lady Pacer runners in the conference meet.
“Amanda ran a superb race,” Coach Mark Boggs said. “I am extremely happy for her success. She has worked so hard and is very deserving of this accomplishment. This is great for Amanda.”
Overall, the Lady Pacers finished fourth as a team.
Along with Amanda Hon, April Thieman was 18th overall in a time of 18:47; Beth Abbott was 21st overall in a time of 18:59; Shana Todd was 25th overall in a time of 19:40; Ashley Bright was 30th in a time of 20:38; Melissa Kinne in a time of 21:23; and Heather Thomas was 34th in a time of 21:37.

The Pacer boys varsity team battled through sickness to place sixth as a team in the conference meet.
Switzerland County was led by Josh Snow, who was seventh overall in a time of 17:07. Other runners for the Pacers included: Clay Meyer, 21st in a time of 18:06; Jim Abbott, 22nd in a time of 18:11; Zach Getz, 25th in a time of 18:34; Matt Johnson, 26th in a time of 18:39; Cliff Meyer, 32nd in a time of 19:24; and Travis Webster, 48th in a time of 22:30.
“Unfortunately we have been hit with some illness that have affected our team’s performance,” Coach Boggs said.
