This past week Switzerland County wrestler Alex Herbert got a once in a lifetime opportunity - he participated in the Wabash College wrestling camp held in Wabash, Indiana.
At the camp he got to workout with Olympic champions and be trained by the best athletes and coaches in the sport today. Camp clinicians included Olympic silver medalist and head coach of the USA Olympic wrestling team Brandon Slay; Oklahoma’s NCAA champion Andrew Howe; NCAA champion and Olympic silver medalist Stephen Abas; and two time NCAA champion and Olympic medalist Jake Varner.
Also working at the camp was Penn State head coach and Olympic gold medalist Cael Sanderson.
“Alex has represented the Switzerland County wrestling program with great pride and dignity over the past year and I look forward to seeing his progression throughout the rest of his high school career,” Switzerland County coach Mark Jackson said.
