Addresses for overseas soldiers needed

The American Legion, Auxiliary and other caring individuals continue to send care packages to the men and women from Switzerland County, or who have a connection to Switzerland County, who are deployed to Iraq or Afghanistan.

Packages have continually been sent since the invasion of Iraq some five years ago. We will continue to support the men and women who wear our country’s uniform in any way we can.

We need to know of all soldiers’ addresses so that we can include them in our mailings. If you have a family member deployed overseas, please send the complete address to: Rita Sullivan, 902 W. Seminary St., Vevay, Indiana, 47043; or call 427-3947 or the American Legion at 427-9144 and leave the address.

Packages are sent approximately every four weeks. It won’t be long until we get into the holiday season and we want to be sure not to leave anyone out.

We need to continue to let them know that we have not forgotten where they are and the sacrifices they make so that we may remain a free nation. This community is a very patriotic community, and we hold our veterans, all veterans, in highest respect.
