An early morning accident on Plum Creek Road in Switzerland County resulted in the death of a county man.
Steven A. Lime, 29, of near Vevay was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident.
Detective Richard Lock of the Switzerland County Sheriff’s Department received a call at approximately 7:15 a.m. on Tuesday morning notifying them of an accident on Plum Creek Road.
According to his wife, Steven Lime, an employee of Dave O’Mara Contracting, left the family home for work around 5 a.m. in his Jeep Wrangler. When his employer called to see why he hadn’t shown up for work, wife Jennifer Lime began to trace Steven Lime’s normal route to work.
“She thought maybe he’d broken down or something,” Richard Lock said. “She saw the vehicle down over the hillside about midway up the hill on Plum Creek Road.”
Richard Lock said that his initial investigation found that the vehicle went off the roadway for an unknown reason, struck a tree, and then slid down the hill and into a large culvert.
Steven Lime was ejected from the vehicle at the time of the accident.
The investigation is ongoing by the Switzerland County Sheriff’s Department. Anyone who may have any information regarding this accident is urged to contact Detective Richard Lock at 427-3636.
Steven Lime was the son of Richard and Annis Lee Lime. He was born and raised in Greenwood, Indiana; and was married to his wife, Jennifer, in Johnson County, Indiana.
He is also survived by two daughters: Paige Lime and Hanna Lime; and also two brothers: Jason Lime and wife, Renee, of Greenwood; and Harrison Lime, also of Greenwood.
