A serious accident on Saturday evening became a fatality on Monday, Nov. 5th as Ohio County resident Terry (Smitty) Smith passed away from injuries sustained in the crash.
The Ohio County Sheriff’s officers received a call of a personal injury accident in the 2700 block of Nelson Road at 8:43 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 3rd.
Smith’s 1998 Jeep reportedly went off the north side of Nelson Road and came back onto the roadway where it flipped on its top.
Deputies Collin English and Kenny Jackson responded to the scene along with the Rising Sun Police Department, Ohio County EMS, and Rising Sun Fire Department.
Smith, 65, was taken to Highpoint Health and then by air care to University Hospital.
