The Historic Hoosier Theater in Vevay will present the drama, “We Will Remember – A Tribute to Veterans,” this weekend with three performances.
The production will be performed tomorrow (Friday) and Saturday nights beginning at 7 p.m.; and there will be a Sunday afternoon matinee beginning at 2 p.m.
This is the story of high school students who, after studying the history of wars, decide to visit a veterans hospital to interview those who had served their country.
What they come away with is more than just information on the patients at the hospital: a grandfather’s journal kept during the Normandy invasion, a mother’s collection of letters from her soldier husband, a cache of letters written by a relative who had served in the Civil War, exchanges with a Japanese veteran, and accounts of their own feelings about the interview.
Cast members include Logan Henry, Aarron Woeste, Jack Wright, Barbara Banta, K.C. Banta, Adele Percer, Tony Catanzaro, Samantha Helt, Sam Wright, Tifanie Rider, Carlotta Hamilton, Kevin Adams, and Brenna Green.
The play is under the direction of Libby Kinman.
Tickets are $8 in advance and $10 at the door. For more information, call the Switzerland County Visitors Bureau at 427-3237.
