The eighth grade basketball team from Switzerland County Middle School captured the championship on the SCIT tournament held on Saturday at the Old Gym.
In the opening game, the Pacers defeated Madison Shawe by a score of 39-21.
Ben Curran led Switzerland County with 12 points; and Riley Phagan was also in double figures, finishing with 10. Dalton Wagner had eight points; Alex Herbert finished with four; Talen Taylor had three; and Brett Chase added two points.
Rising Sun then defeated Southwestern 34-31 in the second opening round game; and the Rebels bounced back to defeat Madison Shawe 32-15 in the consolation game.
In the championship contest, Switzerland County defeated Rising Sun by a score of 44-32.
Alex Herbert led the way in the title tilt, scoring 16 points; and Riley Phagan was right behind with 15 points.
Gaige Cohen had seven points in the win; and Doug Ray had six.
