The eighth grade boys basketball team from Switzerland County Middle School scored 20 points in the opening quarter last Thursday versus Madison and then cruised to a 64-51 victory.
Hunter Hayes led the Pacers, scoring 22 points on the night, including 12 in the final quarter to secure the win. Justin Green finished with 14 points in the game; and Kollin Hayes made it three Pacers in double figures, as he scored 13 points.
Dakota Fuller finished with nine points; Casper Stow added five points; and Brody Splain contributed a point to the win.
Other team members include: Will Pike, Zack Wainscott, Jordan Lay, Mason Spurlock, Josh Johnson, Tyler McAfee, Owen Wagner, and Cody Hankins.

This past Saturday the Pacers hosted the Switzerland County Invitational Tournament with Madison Shawe, Southwestern, and Rising Sun.
In the first game, Switzerland County defeated Madison Shawe by a score of 41-34.
Kollin Hayes scored 10 points to finish in double figures and lead Switzerland County; while Hunter Hayes and Justin Green each finished with nine points. Brody Splain had eight points in the win; Dakota Fuller finished with four points; and Casper Stow contributed one point.
In the second game, Rising Sun defeated Southwestern by a 48-41 score; and in the consolation game, Southwestern defeated Madison Shawe 33-26.
In the tournament’s championship game, Rising Sun defeated Switzerland County in overtime by a score of 38-36 to claim the trophy.
Dakota Fuller led the Pacers with 11 points; while Kollin Hayes finished in double figures with 10. Hunter Hayes had seven points; Justin Green had six points; and Casper Stow had two points.
