The boys eighth grade basketball team from Switzerland County Middle School finished second on Saturday in the Switzerland County Invitational Tournament.
In the opening round of the tourney, the Pacers defeated Rising Sun by a score of 54-43.
Damien Breeck led Switzerland County with 20 points; while Doug Pedraza was also in double figures with 14. Zach Weaver had nine points; Arron Jones added five points; Patrick Stow had four points; and Coby Chase contributed two points.
Shawe Memorial then defeated Southwestern 62-22 in the second first round game; and in the consolation game, Rising Sun defeated Southwestern 46-40.
In the championship game of the tourney, Shawe defeated the Pacers by a final score of 60-43.
Breeck had 19 points in the loss to lead the Pacers; while Weaver had eight points; Jones had six; Landon Wilks had five; Pedraza had three; and Stow finished with two.
The team opened its season last week with a 58-47 loss at the hands of Madison.
Breeck led the way with 18 points; and Pedraza added 10. Weaver and Stow each contributed seven points; Jones had three; and Josh Cheatham finished with two.
