8th grade claims tournament title


The eighth grade boys basketball team from Switzerland County Middle School won the championship of the Mini Rivertown Tournament, which was played on Saturday at Greendale.

In the opening game, Switzerland County defeated Lawrenceburg by a score of 36-26.

Braden Burk led the Pacers with 13 points; while Chase Ritch and Bob Tressler each finished with seven, and Hunter Jordan added six.

Austin Clark finished with two points; and Dakota Taylor contributed one.

In the championship game, the Pacers defeated Rising Sun by a score of 48-32.

In a balanced scoring attack, Austin Clark led Switzerland County with 13 points; while Chase Ritch added 12 and Hunter Jordan was also in double figures with 10.

Braden Burk had five points; Bob Tressler finished with four points; and Dakota Taylor and Justus Powell each contributed two points to the win.

On Thursday, December 10th, the Pacers defeated Rising Sun by a score of 52-45.

Braden Burk and Austin Clark each had 13 points to lead Switzerland County; while Hunter Jordan finished with nine and Kyle Konkle had seven.

Chase Ritch finished with five; Bob Tressler added three; and Dakota Taylor chipped in two .

The team is coached by Steven Konkle.
