The eighth grade boys basketball team from Switzerland County Middle School is wrapping up an outstanding season.
- Last Thursday the Pacers defeated Milan by a score of 54-21. Hunter Hayes led Switzerland County with 16 points; while Kollin Hayes finished with eight points on two three-pointers. Dakota Fuller had seven points; Justin Green had six points; and Casper Stow, Brody Splain, and Will Pike each had four. Tyler McAfee contributed three points; and Cody Hankins had two points.
- On Saturday Switzerland County participated in the Tri-County Invitational in Rising Sun. In the opening round game, the Pacers defeated St. Lawrence by a score of 55-19. Hunter Hayes had 12 points in the contest, while Justin Green was also in double figures with 10. Dakota Fuller and Kollin Hayes each added eight points; Casper Stow had five points; and Josh Johnson added four points. Brody Splain, Zack Wainscott, Mason Spurlock, and Tyler McAfee each chipped in two points.
In the second game of the tournament, the Pacers defeated Sunman Dearborn by a score of 34-23. Justin Green was the leading scorer in the game, with 10 points; while Hunter Hayes had nine points and Kollin Hayes had seven points. Dakota Fuller and Brody Splain each had four points in the win.
In the championship game, Switzerland County earned the title with a 44-18 win over Rising Sun. In the title game, Hunter Hayes led the way with 12 points; while Dakota Fuller had eight points and Justin Green and Kollin Hayes each finished with seven points. Brody Splain had six points in the game, and Tyler McAfee contributed one point.
