Joel Layton Girod
Joel Layton Girod, newborn, of Aurora, Indiana, passed away on Friday, April 22nd, 2016.
He was born in Lawrenceburg, Indiana to Amy Vastine and Jeremy Girod.
Joel is survived by his parents, Amy Vastine and Jeremy Girod; his sister, Natalie Girod; grandparents: Eugenia Harness, Michael Spaulding, and Mona Lisa Girod; his aunt: Jennifer Farrell; four uncles: Donald, Trent, Michael, and Bocephus; his cousin: Brandy Harris; and a host of other family members and friends.
A Memorial Service will be held at the Wilmington United Methodist Church, 7037 Wilmington Pike US 350, Aurora, Indiana, 47001, on Sunday, May 1st, at 3 p.m.

Waylon Matthew Bissett
Waylon Matthew Bissett, was born on April 25th, 2016 to Jeffery and Cristin Chadwell Bissett of Vevay.
He passed his short life on Monday, April 25th, 2016 at the Norton Hospital in Louisville, Kentucky.
He is also survived by two brothers: Hunter and Brady Bissett, both of Vevay.
A graveside service will be on Friday, April 29, 2016 at 1 p.m. at the I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Carrollton, Kentucky.
Arrangements are entrusted with the Tandy-Eckler-Riley Funeral Home.
Lonnie Holder
James Lawrence “Lonnie” Holder, 76, of Moores Hill, Indiana passed away at 8:18 a.m. on Wednesday, April 20th, 2016, at his residence.
Lonnie was born in Aurora, Indiana, on September 22nd, 1939, the son of the late Elma (Lockwood) and Verl C. Holder. He was a graduate of Rising Sun High School, Class of 1957.
Lonnie served his country in the U.S. Army as a PFC T E-3. He worked as head grounds keeper at the Dearborn Country Club for over 25 years. Lonnie was a member of the Rising Sun American Legion Post #59 and former Color Guard member, also the 40 & 8, and the Aurora Eagles.
He was also a member of the Cedars of Lebanon Fellowship Church in Dillsboro.
On March 18th, 1994 he married Rita (Walston) Holder who survives him. Lonnie is also survived by a daughter: LuAnn Knigga (Brian), of Bear Branch, Indiana; by two sons: James Lawrence Holder, Jr. (Michelle) of Glenrock, Wyoming and Jeffery Lynn Holder (Ruth), of Moorecroft, Wyoming; by step-son Rod Walton, of Rising Sun; and step-daughter Tara Nicklas (Jude) of Lawrenceburg, Indiana.
He is also survived by six grandchildren: Justin, Jeff, Jessica, Mitchell, J.R. and Jerry; by two step-grandchildren: Garrett and Landon; by three great-grandchildren: Rylea, Chaylin and Brelli; by a sister, Verlene Clark (Bud), of Battle Creek, Michigan; by three nephews: Trent, Trev and Todd; and by a niece, Holly.
Funeral services were held on Wednesday, April 27th at the Markland Funeral Home in Rising Sun, with Pastor Charles Hill officiating. Friends were invited to call on the family on Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial was at Rising Sun New Cemetery with military graveside honors.
Memorial donations may be made to the family or the Rising Sun American Legion Color Guard.
