Another year begins at the Rising Sun-Ohio County Community School Corporation as students report for a full day of school on Monday, August 1st. Classes at the elementary/middle school and the high school will begin at 8:00 a.m. and dismiss at 3:00 p.m.. Early drop-off services begin at 6:45 a.m. at the elementary/middle school and can include high school students. Preschool through 6th grade Latchkey services (afterschool care) begin at 3:00 p.m. and last until 5:30 p.m..
Lunch prices for students in kindergarten through grade 2 will be $2.55 and will be $2.75 for students in grades 3 through 12 (a la carte items available at an extra cost). Breakfast will be available for $1.25 at the elementary/middle school and the high school. Please remember that you must deposit money into your student’s account for breakfast and lunch. Deposits may be made during bookstore and open house. Lunch progra.m. deposits should be kept separate from textbook fees.

Wednesday, July 27: 11:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m. at the high school in Room 2010
Thursday, July 28: 11:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m. at the high school in Room 2010
Friday, July 29: 12:00 Noon – 3:00 p.m. at the high school in Room 2010
OPEN HOUSE July 29: 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. at the high school in Room 2010 and OCEMS Gym
Fees can be paid at the administration building beginning August 1st. The applications for textbook and school lunch assistance were mailed out previously and are to be returned to the superintendent’s office as instructed on the applications. The assistance applications are also available on the school website. (www.risingsunschools.com)
Device insurance will be available for all students this school year (forms available on school website (www.risingsunschools.com). Parents will have the opportunity to pay $25 per student for insurance for the devices. The first offense the student would owe $25 for the da.m.age, $50 for the second, and 100% of the da.m.age upon the third offense. The parent also has the right to refuse the insurance policy. By signing the waiver of insurance, the parent agrees to pay 100% of any da.m.age occurring to the device or accessories. Parents may pay for the insurance at the bookstore. The payment will be separate from textbook fees and lunch deposits.
